FAQs
What is the function of the Auction Ofice?
The capacities are offered only by APG or jointly by the responsible transmission operators. The Auction itself is carried out by the Auction Office in accordance with specific rules and the regulations set out by the respective law and by the responsible Regulatory Authorities. The reason for this type of congestion management is, that the demand for transmission capacity between the countries is much higher than the available capacity. Performing an auction of the available capacity provides a transparent method for the allocation of these capacities.
